The role I have been assigned to in the group is that I am one of two video editors and prototypers but I also am responsible of doing my own independent research into our project brief.
Its hard to know what is right and wrong nowadays on various different news sites as a lot of misinformation and propaganda is being spread via AI. Upon reading the article "https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2023/may/08/ai-generated-news-websites-study" I found that this study shows that nearly 50 popular news sites are using AI which is leading to the spread of misinformation. A lot of these websites are going to Chat GPT to get their information on different stories but as we all know GPT isn't always accurate.
Some of the websites that this article mentions as using AI to generate their articles include:
celebritiesdeaths.com
ScoopEarth.com
Famadillo.com
We plan on creating an app/website that uses AI to help you find honest and accurate articles written by credible sources based on your interests.
Some credible sources that I have found according to "Forbes" include:
The Associated Press, Reuters, Bloomberg News
I think BBC has a very nice and easy user interface as it allows you to select what news you see based on the topic you are interested in within their website. The white and red comes together nicely and is easy on the eye.
The Wall Street Journal also is very easy for users as it also allows you to select what news you see based on set topics but the overall design of the website is a bit boring and old fashioned.
