Research: Thumbnails (Jake)

I was asked regarding one of the notes that I took down last week, which was "How do we know if bigger thumbnails = most important stories? Can it be represented better?" And so that got me thinking... do bigger thumbnails on news websites and applications always mean that it's more important than other news? With that question being asked, I decided to do some sort of research about it and here is what I found:

According to this article which you can read here, thumbnails are used to draw people in to the article and are helpful in trying to show this news. However, it is also said that when it comes to video content, video owners have to go through multiple different frames to find the one that looks the most interesting to viewers. This process can be a painstaking and tedious one, seeing as a human has to manually go through each frame and try to find the most exciting one.

Let's see if we can find a way that can represent this better...
