Prototype Idea Sketches - Cian

 Here are my initial prototype sketches for our project. These ideas aren't set in stone yet but can give us an idea of which path to take.

This idea envisioned the site as a big slider input, with left-wing on one end and right-wing on the other. moving the slider to either end would present the user with headlines and links to articles which correlate to their political leaning.

Expanding on the previous idea, the whole page could be envisioned as the political compass, with each news article plotted upon it. The user could tell at a glance the political bias of each article and choose to read what they wish.

 

My next idea envisioned the web app as an elevator in a huge building. Each button takes you to a  different floor, each with a different topic. The floors would each be presented as a scene with interactive elements linking to news sources.

The group had previously discussed the concept of a navigable city map, where different buildings correlated to different news topics. This is my quick rendition of that idea. I considered the possibility that the user would need to use a game controller to move a character around the city and physically walk them to a building.

This idea could potentially be paired with the elevator concept, where upon entering a building you can then interact with the elevator to reach different articles or sub-topics.
