Feedback from others [Jake]

So after I showed my initial concepts to various members of my family (my mother, brother, two friends).

They told me that the design of this looked messy and difficult to understand, and the minigame section made things needlessly complicated. 

So I decided with the following, to change the designs of the buildings so that they looked more user-friendly and explanatory of what the news would give you.

Reactions were far more positive, saying how easier it was to access everything, as well as the presentation of the entire application looking more lively.
